Secretary in Aubusson Blue

I couldn't wait to start on this thrifty find I shared with you last week.

I painted the secretary with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Aubusson Blue.

Just look at that sheen from the Annie Sloan Soft Wax.

The secretary was moved into the sunroom; my favorite room in the house.

The inside was painted with ASCP in a mix of Louis Blue and Provence, which makes a lovely turquoise.  I then dry brushed with Paris Grey.

I love the Aubusson Blue; however, next time I'd like to try it with the dark wax.

Thanks for visiting.

The blue looks great! I love how you positioned it in front of the full length mirror! I found a store that carries ASCP just 20 minutes away! Can't wait to go and pick up a can for myself!

Oooh, that is lovely, look at that shine - gorgeous!!

Do you know if Aubusson is a different colour in the US than here in the UK? The reason I ask is I have recently done a bureau in Aubusson (which you can see here:http://shabbychicsarah.blogspot.com/2011/09/150-and-union-jack-bureau.html) and it looks like a completely different colour - I've noticed that whenever a US piece is painted Aubusson it's different. Just curious!!

This looks great! I even like that you painted the handles. It has a very sleek but old look to it. I'm your newest follower! I'd love for you to come visit me... afabulesshome.blogspot.com

So pretty! Glad I saw this b/c I was about to order the Aubusson blue. Another reader commented about the color too. I'm wondering b/c I thought it was darker. I'm looking for more of a navy or royal blue for my son's furniture.

Oh gosh Katie this is beautiful. I just ordered this color. It hasn't arrived yet. For some reason I thought it was a darker blue. I saw it on another blog. I didn't order the dark wax but I think that's how I'd get it darker. Oh well...it's always something. Have a wonderful weekend!
