This dresser was purchased from Craig's List and painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. I mixed approximately two parts Aubusson Blue and one part Duck Egg Blue. The mirror was purchased from Hobby Lobby several years ago and painted with the same mix of paint.
I usually take photos of my furniture outside where the light is better, but I thought I'd try an inside shot today. Taking inside photos is difficult in our house (or maybe it's the photographer). We have a lot of windows but also a lot of tall trees outside, which tends to darken the interior and/or cause glare. Like I said, not the easiest place to take photos.
The top was stripped and stained with Minwax Dark Walnut. AS clear wax was used as the final step.
I think I'm getting better at distressing. I always knew the look I loved, but it was still hard to sand off what was just painted. However, it's getting easier.
As you can see, I love all things blue and green, from painted furniture to glass and other collectibles.
Before.
After.
Thanks for visiting.

I saw someone use the Aubusson Blue just the other day and I loved it. I want to get some and also I need the AS wax. I am in the same boat you are with the photography. Lots of windows. I think your photos are really good though...and I'm not just saying that! Have a great week...

Gorgeous! So much better than the original. I'm about to do an old wardrobe in this colour, so glad I found your blog for inspiration!
You've done a lovely job with the drawers, amazing how much difference some paint makes (and some effort). Well done.
Beautiful! I just "rescued" a dresser, knowing it can be something lovely. You've inspired me!
gorgeous! I love it!
I featured your pretty blue dresser at Mod Mix Monday today!
I love the color! Great job, not only on the dresser, but on the photos as well!
Hi Katie!
Stopped by your site after reading your comment on the blue dresser I posted about today. I didn't know who you were so I clicked to your site to see who I was talking to when I noticed the dresser you did.
When I first glanced at it I'm thinking, what is my dresser doing over here? The color was so similar I assumed you used the Provence, so I was amazed when I read you mixed up your own paint.
I think you can do that with several ASCP colors. I have a can of Duck Egg Blue which I hate; maybe I'll mix it up with something and see if I can make it better.
I really do love the Provence. Unfortunately, I'm out and until money starts coming in, I'll have to use what I have.
Take care & thanx again for the comment.
Simply gorgeous! Janell
This is just beautiful! Well done.
