Fall Tablescape

Fall is my favorite time of year.  I love the colors, scents and cooler weather.
This is my tablescape in the entry.

Love my white candlesticks, urn and deer antler with just a touch of orange and brown from the pumpkins, leaves and pinecones.

Thanks for visiting.

White Octagon Table

I've been waiting for Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint in Pure White and chose this octagon table to try it.

The beautiful after.

 The sad looking before.

The top was stripped and stained with Minwax Dark Walnut.

The base was painted with ASCP in Pure White, distressed and finished with the Soft Wax.  Love the texture of this paint.

Rustic Cabinet

I love the shape of this rustic cabinet.  I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in a mix of Louis Blue, Provence and Duck Egg Blue.  These three colors mix to a beautiful turquoise and are easy to adjust to a little more green or blue hue.

Before.

I then distressed and waxed the cabinet with AS Soft Wax.

Sara, You Are An Ironman!

She swam...

She rode...

She ran...

Congratulations, Sara, you are an Ironman!!!

This past weekend we had a fun time in Madison, WI to cheer on our niece, Sara, in the Ironman.  Sara participated in the Ironman for the second year in a row and had a great day.  Here are a few scenes from the day.

Secretary in Aubusson Blue

I couldn't wait to start on this thrifty find I shared with you last week.

I painted the secretary with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Aubusson Blue.

Just look at that sheen from the Annie Sloan Soft Wax.

The secretary was moved into the sunroom; my favorite room in the house.

The inside was painted with ASCP in a mix of Louis Blue and Provence, which makes a lovely turquoise.  I then dry brushed with Paris Grey.

I love the Aubusson Blue; however, next time I'd like to try it with the dark wax.

Turquoise Mirror and Thrifty Finds

I'm having one of those weeks where I've started a bunch of projects, but have only finished one small piece.  Therefore, I thought I'd share the mirror that I finished and some of my recent thrifty finds.

I painted this gold framed mirror with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in a mix of Louis Blue and Provence, and then wiped off the excess to show the lovely detail on this frame.

The mirror frame before.  I just started painting it when I realized I hadn't taken a photo.  Just your basic gold frame.

Now for some of my finds.  This was listed as a military crate.

A small roll-top desk.

Another gold framed mirror.

A small secretary.  I think I might have to keep this piece.
